3D Imaging: At White Palm Dental, we use state-of-the-art 3D CBCT technology to enhance your implant process. The 3D imaging tool provides highly detailed views of your oral structures and ensures you have adequate bone mass for implant success. CBCT scans help facilitate implant placement, ensuring the long-term success of the procedure.

Establishing Candidacy: Candidates for dental implants must be in good health and have adequate bone density to support their replacement teeth. If you have bone loss, Dr. McGavin may recommend a bone graft to prepare the area for a successful implant procedure.

Implant Placement: Dr. McGavin will plan your implant using the 3D images obtained from the CBCT. With advanced software, he plans exactly where the implant will be placed so that it corresponds correctly with the future location of the crown.  In certain cases, he may use the digital plan to make a custom surgical guide that allows him to place your implant in your jawbone precisely where it needs to be. These guides provide incredible precision in placement of the implant, minimize pain, decrease postoperative complications, and enhance treatment outcomes and success.

Placing Your Restoration: Dr. McGavin will wait for the area to heal, which can take 3-6 months, before proceeding with fabrication of the crown. Digital scans or impressions of the site will be made and sent to skilled lab technicians to create the implant restoration from the highest quality materials. Once the crown has been made, you will return to have your implant restoration permanently secured in place.
