Dr. Lance McGavin has been a resident of Melbourne, FL since 2020 when he received an assignment to Patrick Space Force Base. He was honored to provide dental care to thousands of service members, with his accomplishments earning him the esteemed title of Clinical Dentist of the Year for the entire United States Space Force. After completing his military service, Dr. McGavin, his wife, and their three children decided to make Melbourne their permanent home. He established White Palm Dental to fulfill a vision years in the making of providing a locally-owned practice where patients of all ages can come to receive exceptional dental treatment in an honest and friendly environment.

Dr. McGavin is actively involved in the community and enjoys volunteering with a variety of organizations. One of the things he enjoys most is visiting local elementary schools to teach children about oral health. Fun facts about Dr. McGavin include: he's fluent in the Estonian language, he's an Eagle Scout, he plays the piano, and loves Oreos. He's also an experienced snowboarder and scuba diver and has taken up kiteboarding since moving to Florida.

Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, Dr. McGavin graduated from The University of Utah School of Dentistry. He furthered his education with a one-year advanced education in general dentistry at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois, enabling him to become highly proficient in many disciplines including oral surgery, sedation, and cosmetic procedures. Additionally, Dr. McGavin completed a year-long comprehensive implant course in Newark, NJ earning the gold standard in dental implant training from the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.

Dr. McGavin is grateful for the mentorship of highly esteemed dentists, including his father, a dentist of 34 years, as well as leaders of organizations like the American Academy of Periodontology and The American Board of Oral Implantology. With over 600 hours of continuing education and personalized training from industry experts, Dr. McGavin is uniquely qualified to provide a wide range of skilled treatment.
