Initial Screening: After taking your medical and dental history, we will ask you about any current concerns.

Digital X-Rays and Intraoral Camera: We will take digital dental x-rays to uncover problems that may have developed since your last exam, including new decay, bone loss, or other concerns. We will also capture real-time images of your mouth with an intraoral camera and share them with you to empower you to make informed decisions about your dental care.

Physical Examination: An essential, potentially life-saving component of every dental exam provided at White Palm Dental is an oral cancer screening, which involves a thorough mouth, head, and neck exam to rule out abnormalities. Dr. McGavin will also perform a tooth-by-tooth examination to assess the health of your teeth and restorations. He will also evaluate your gum and bone levels to check for signs of gingivitis or periodontal disease.

Dental Cleaning: We will gently remove plaque and tartar buildup from your teeth and gum line to help lower the risk of tooth decay, gum disease, and bad breath. We use an ultrasonic scaler to gently blast away plaque, tartar, and surface tooth stains, minimizing patient discomfort.

Next Steps: Dr. McGavin will discuss steps to improve or maintain your oral health. He will work with you to create a custom treatment plan outlining immediate restorative needs or recommended preventive measures to keep dental issues from arising.
